SABAE FUKUI

As many of you know, Vincent Catani sunglasses are all made in Japan, not just that, but they are crafted in the Sabae, Fukui prefecture. The birthplace of Japanese eyewear manufacturing. In the early 1900s one of the most famous eyewear craftsmen Massunaga, brought the art of eyewear craftsmanship to Sabae. To create opportunities for farmers during their off-season. Sabae became quickly known for its durability and precision.

In 1980 after Sabae had created a big name for themselves as quality eyewear. They transformed the industry by being able to mass-produce eyewear out of Titanium.

Because of their history and values the decision to have VC manufacturing in Japan was certain. Working on the collections with Sabae, they have showcased unparalleled crafsmanship, precision, attention to detail, and service. There is only perfection. By working with them VC gets the quality it deserves for a long lasting life. 

In 2023, my girlfriend and I visited my partner’s in Japan. We got to see the factory and discuss the plans for the new Florio collection. Two years later, I am extremely glad about how the frames came together. Japan is one of the most inspirational countries and cultures that I ever have had the pleasure to experience. I got to say we all could take a page out of their book and implement it to our everyday way of thinking. 

FULL CIRCLE

Now Vincent Catani is available in two major Japanese cities Tokyo and Nagoya. Big shout out to blinc, Fabulous Sounds and Menowa eyewear. After visiting Japan I am beyond myself that Vincent Catani has made it there. Full Cricle moment. New trip in the works for proper brand activation in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Sabae.
