SK8AT8 HOMAGE
SK8AT8 HOMAGE is produced by my talented photographer friend Tobias Hoffmann and myself. SK8AT8 was my first skate crew with my friends! And what a name it was!! We spent all days after school skating at the local skate park filming videos. 
One day Tobias and I sat down at a local bar in Copenhagen for a beer, and within an hour of discussing ideas we came up with the concept for this shoot.
This editorial is a reflection of myself and my friends as a young skater kids in the 2000s, and on the kind of community skateboarding is. Having fun with your friends, feeling supported by your environment, ''skate every damn day'', having a personal style, and equality among everyone.
It's a great community to grow up in.
 

 

It's important for me to have models based on the character for authenticity. I contacted a skater friend and asked if he had some friends that would be down for a shoot. He and his friends are always having a good time and have cool styles. He got me two friends that were coming with him. We had a very chill time on the set, listening to music, watching skate videos on YouTube, eating pizza, and taking cool pictures. I wanted to use brands and looks that were popular when I was 14. Brands like Volcom, Airwalk, Vans, Stussy, and Osiris. Big bulky shoes, crazy hairstyles, and comfortable clothing. We focused on getting wide close-ups of the sunglasses with different expressions from many angles. I am very stoked about how everything turned out! So big thanks to Tobias, Aske, Teo, Vanda, and Rigo.

 

 

Mood Board

I imagined this shoot to have an early 2000s aesthetic with a playful style on, set design, expressions, characters, and styling. During the whole shoot we had a lot of fun with the team with a very chill environment, which made it easy to work. We wanted close ups of the sunglasses from different angles with many expressions and activities going on.
